We are deeply saddened by the heavy loss of lives and property due to a devastating wind storm in Bara and Parsa Districts on 31st March 2019. At least 47 people including 10 women and 5 children have lost their lives. We would like to extend our deepest condolences to the families that lost their beloved family members including children and pray for their souls to rest in peace.
CWIN-NEPAL requests all the concerned stakeholders to provide immediate relief, medical remedies, psychological counselling including necessary relief and rehabilitation of children who have been injured, displaced or have lost their parents in this incident. The representatives of CWIN-NEPAL’s Child Helpline 1098, Mr Jhabindra Gyanwali and Ms. Samjhana Adhikari are currently on the spot helping children at risk. Similarly, a team of clinical psychologists and counsellors from CWIN-NEPAL will reach the affected areas tomorrow for psychosocial first aid.
